MCP REFERENCE

Connect an MCP client

Use Streamable HTTP and Innflow OAuth to authorize a client.

Connection values

SettingDefault value
TransportStreamable HTTP
Server URL / resourcehttps://mcp.innflow.ai/mcp
AuthenticationOAuth bearer access token
Authorization serverhttps://app.innflow.ai
Protected resource metadatahttps://mcp.innflow.ai/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp

These are source defaults, not a requirement to use those hostnames for a self-hosted deployment. A client's configuration file format varies; enter the URL in its remote HTTP MCP connection settings and use its supported OAuth flow.

Add the remote server

Give the connection a recognizable name such as Innflow. Select a remote HTTP connection and enter your deployment's MCP URL.

Authorize your account

Complete the OAuth sign-in and review the requested permissions. Use the Innflow account and workspace you intend to access.

Discover the tools

Refresh the client's tool list. Start with innflow_list_workflows to verify read access.

Inspect before changing anything

Find the intended workflow and inspect its details before asking the client to run or deploy it.

Permission scopes

ScopePurpose
mcp:readRead accessible workflows, executions, and related metadata
mcp:executeExecute a deployed workflow
mcp:manageDeploy/undeploy workflows and perform enabled authoring operations

A connected account does not automatically have every scope. Resource access also remains subject to the user's permissions. Authoring management tools declare both read and manage scopes.

Keep client and server credentials separate

The MCP service's private signing key belongs only in the server environment. Do not put it in an MCP client configuration or paste it into a conversation. Ordinary clients use OAuth access tokens, not the service signing key or a database credential.

Verify a connection

Tool discovery and a successful read are useful initial checks. They do not prove write permissions, deployment readiness, or completion of a workflow run. See troubleshooting if authorization succeeds but calls fail.
